أيلة تنظم إلى حملة عالمية للحفاظ على الاعشاب البحرية

ضمن التزامها بالحفاظ على البيئة والحياة الطبيعية، أكدت “أيلة” على التزامها بتعزيز الإجراءات الرامية لحفظ الأعشاب البحرية في سلسلة من القواعد والمبادرات.
وبمناسبة اليوم العالمي للأعشاب البحرية الذي حددته الأمم المتحدة منذ العام 2022 في الأول من مارس/آذار من كل عام بعنوان “أعشاب بحرية سليمة لكوكب سليم”، كشفت أيلة عن نجاح هذه التدابير في الحفاظ على الموارد من الأعشاب البحرية لدورها في النظم الإيكولوجية لتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة. وبحسب تقديرات المسح البصري الذي أجرته أيلة نهاية شباط/فبراير الماضي لأماكن تواجد الأعشاب البحرية، بلغت نسبة تواجدها الاجمالية داخل البحيرات وعلى حواف الشواطىء بما يزيد على 15% من مساحة البحيرات، ويتوقع ارتفاع هذه النسبة مستقبلاً.

وتعد الأعشاب البحرية “seagrass”، من الموارد المهمة التي تشكلت خلال عقد من الزمن في بحيرات أيلة وتنمو بمعدلات متسارعة وباتت تغطي مساحات متفاوتة منها وعلى حواف الشواطئ السبعة عشر.
وبهذه المناسبة قال المدير التنفيذي لشركة واحة أيلة للتطوير المهندس سهل دودين: “نفخر بقواعدنا الثابتة في مجال الحفاظ على الموارد البيئية بما يكفل تنمية مستدامة، وضمن التزامنا بالأهداف السبعة عشر للتنمية المستدامة التي أقرتها الأمم المتحدة، وتبني أيلة للهدف 14 المعني بالحياة تحت الماء، نعمل جاهدين على تعزيز الوعي بالموارد وخصصنا برامج لتعزيز حفظ الأعشاب البحرية”.
وأضاف دودين “ننضم إلى حملة عالمية ضمن جهودنا للحفاظ على التنوع الحيوي، ونظراً للبيئة الثرية في أيلة ورصيدنا الطويل من النجاحات في مجال التنمية المستدامة نسخّر جهودنا لحماية النظم الإيكولوجية للأعشاب البحرية وتعزيزها، وندعم أيضاً الجهود الوطنية ونشر الوعي بهذا المجال”.
وضمن التزامها في أهداف التنمية المستدامة السبعة عشر التي اعتمدتها الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة تبنت شركة واحة أيلة للتطوير الهدف الرابع عشر تحت عنوان الحياة تحت الماء “حفظ المحيطات والبحار والموارد البحرية واستخدامها على نحو مستدام لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة”، نظراً لنجاحها بإضافة مسطحات مائية بطول 17 كيلومترا لشواطئ العقبة وظهور تنوع حيوي متكامل بداخلها في هذه المسطحات المائية وموارد تتناغم مع الحياة البحرية للبحر الأحمر.
وتلتزم أيلة بالاستدامة، وحماية البيئة وتمتد نشاطاتها على مستوى المجتمع المحلي وعلى المستوى الوطني، مع قواعد صارمة للحفاظ على المحيط الطبيعي لأيلة، والمساهمة في بيئة أنظف وأكثر صحة، ورفع مستوى الوعي بين العاملين والقاطنين فيها والمجتمع حول أهمية الحفاظ على البيئة وحماية الشعاب المرجانية والثروة السمكية والأعشاب البحرية، والترويج لمفهوم السياحة البيئية والمستدامة في العقبة.

Ayla Joins a Global Campaign for the Conservation of Seagrass

As part of its commitment to the preservation and conservation of nature, Ayla emphasizes its dedication to reinforcing measures for safeguarding marine plants through various measures and initiatives.
On the occasion of World Seagrass Day, introduced by the United Nations on March 1st each year since 2022 under the theme “Healthy Seagrass, Healthy Planet,” Ayla unveiled the success of these measures in preserving marine plant resources and their crucial role in ecological systems for achieving sustainable development goals. A recent optical survey by Ayla at the end of February revealed that seagrasses’ total presence within lakes and along shores exceeded 15% of the lakes’ area, with expectations of an increase in this percentage in the future.
Seagrasses are a significant resource formed over the past decade in Ayla’s lakes. They exhibit rapid growth, covering various areas within the lakes and along the seventeen shores.
Sahl Dudin, Ayla’s Managing Director, , expressed, “We take pride in our steadfast commitment to preserving environmental resources for sustainable development. Aligning with the seventeen sustainable development goals by the United Nations, Ayla has adopted goal 14, focusing on life underwater, and actively works on raising awareness about resources, implementing dedicated programs for seagrass preservation.”

In adherence to the seventeen sustainable development goals by the United Nations General Assembly, Ayla Oasis Development Company has embraced goal 14, titled “Life Below Water.” This goal aims to preserve oceans, seas, marine resources, and promote their sustainable use for achieving sustainable development. This success is exemplified by the addition of 17 kilometers of water areas to Aqaba’s shores, showcasing diverse and integrated biodiversity within these water areas, harmonizing with marine life in the Red Sea.
